• Adventure Trekking Tour

Baruntse expedition is probably one of the most rewarding and completes climbing trips you can make in Nepal. So if you are looking for a remote, wide variety trek with challenging high passes and a relatively easy 7000m climb, then Baruntse expedition is the right trip for you. Baruntse Peak (7129m) is a beautiful snow peak located in the Makalu-Barun National Park and Conservation Area. The Baruntse Mountain is still a relatively unknown mountain due to its remote location, although its popularity has been growing in the last years. As the mountain’s south-East ridge is relatively straightforward climb, it offers a great opportunity to gain valuable high altitude experience before trying to scale an 8000m peak.

The Baruntse Climbing Expedition sections are easy to difficult. The climbing route is not technically demanding and is essentially a straightforward snow and ice climb with some corniced sections. A prominent ice cliff at around 7000m adds a challenging aspect to the climb. The expedition guides will lead this ice cliff and fix ropes to add the ascent and descent. This Baruntse Expedition offers a remote experience, and a challenging and rewarding introduction to Himalayan Expedition Climbing.

Spring (April/May) and autumn (Oct/Nov) are the best season for the Baruntse Expedition since there have stable weather and clear views at this time. The weather below 5000m is varying from +10/+30 degree at day time and at night time: -5/+15 degree. Above 5000m is varying from -5/+10 at day time and -15/25 degree at night time. However, mountain storms and fog are unpredictable and can arise quickly, changing trekking and climbing conditions dramatically. Rain, snow and strong winds are always possible.
