Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,338m)
Upon your arrival, a representative from us will be waiting outside the airport arrival gate to take you to the hotel. Depending on the time of arrival, plans will be made for a briefing meeting once you have settled in.
Day 2: Drive to Pokhara (970m)
Early in the morning, we drive to Pokhara, the city of lakes and nature takes nearly 6-7 hours drive. Our bus follows a winding road over the valley rim and descends onto the Trisuli River where you will be rafting for 2 to 3 hours. After rafting we will have lunch on the river bank. The remainder of the journey is slow and steady as the road winds through villages and passing terrace fields before reaching our destination.
Pokhara is best known for its tranquil atmosphere and the beauty of the surrounding countryside. Normally, we arrive by mid afternoon so you have time to explore or relax as you prepare for the journey ahead.
Day 3: Drive to Nayapul, trek to Banthanti (2,230m).
After breakfast we drive an hour to Nayapul and then begin walking towards Birethati. We then cross the river at Birethati and head left along the gentle slope to Tikhedhunga where we cross the Bhurungdi Khola River to start the long steep climb to Ulleri and walk further along to Banthanti.
Day 4: Trek to Ghorepani (2,810m)
After breakfast we continue our trek along the trail. Occasional views of the peaks give way to a narrower valley, passing through Rhododendron forest then eventually reaching the village of Ghorepani where we spend a night.
Day 5: Ghorepani to Ghandruk (1,945m)
During the night, your guide will check for clear weather to make the one-hour climb up to the Poonhill viewpoint at 3,210m. It’s usually misty when you start off and arrive, then at sunrise the clouds part to reveal one of the most majestic sunrises in the world; Machapuchhre, Annapurna South, Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri Mountain are all viewable from here.
We then head back to Ghorepani for breakfast before trekking down for 7/8 hours to Ghandruk through rhododendron forest via Tadapani. Ghandrung is one of the most interesting Gurung villages in Nepal, having provided a great number of Nepal and Britain’s Gurkha army soldiers.
Day 6: Trek to Nayapul, then drive to Pokhara.
From Ghandruk it’s a long descent to the settlement of Syauli Bazaar (1,140m). Once there, it’s an easy and pleasant walk along the Modi Khola riverbank to Birethanti (1,065m) where we stop for lunch. Birethanti is a beautiful riverside village that is usually busy with many trekkers starting and finishing their treks. From here we trek to Nayapul then catch a car back to Pokhara. The evening is free to relax and catch up on some last minute shopping.
