Jomsom Muktinath ABC Trek commences from Pokhara by getting flight to Jomsom, then trek up to Muktinath, and Jomsom reaching the forested areas below Tukuche. The highlight of this trek includes the Kali Gandaki River which is considered the deepest ravine in the world, deeper than the Grand Canyon. The Kali Gandaki River cuts deeply between Mt.Dhaulagiri (8167m) to the west and Mt Annapurna (8091m) to the east.
The Jomsom Muktinath ABC trekking continue down the Kali Gandaki gorge amidst some stunning views of views of mountains and diverse flora and fauna in the lower forests passing through Ghorepani with a magnificent sunrise view from Poon Hill and continue up to Annapurna Base Camp, and back to Pokhara and relax near lake city of Pokhara.
This is medium level trekking grade. A good physical level of fitness is required for this trekking. This is a lodge to lodge based trekking, during this trek we stay at mountain guest house and eat there. The best season for Jomsom Annapurna trekking is autumn and spring. Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu.
On arrival at Kathmandu Airport, receive and transfer to hotel.
Day 2: Sightseeing of Kathmandu Valley.
Leave for full day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu valley world heritage sites includes the Hindu temple complex at Pashupatinath & the biggest Buddhist Stupa- Boudhanath Stupa. Also visit 2000 years old Swoyambhunath Stupa known as the Monkey and Kathmandu Durbar Square, the area of living goddess Kumari.
Day 3: Kathmandu -Pokhara
Drive or fly to Pokhara, the city of nature and lakes. By overland drive it takes 6 hours and by flight it takes 30 minute.
Day 4: Pokhara-Jomsom, trek to Kagbeni.
Early morning fly in to Jomsom and continue treks to Kagbeni (2810m. From Jomsom trek continues about 3 hrs. Through the bank of Kaligandaki, we reach to Ekklebhatti villages. Trek one hour more to reach Kagbeni lies at the bank of two rivers.
Day 5: Kagbeni to Muktinath (3800m)
Muktinath is an important pilgrimage for both Hindus and Buddhist with a Gompa and a pagoda style. Pagoda is a dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The most interesting and importance of the area however is the spot with burning natural gas. Trekking is just 4 hrs.
Day 6: Muktinath to Marpha (2713m)
The trial descends very quickly to the valley floor more than 5,000 ft. below, the descends is through a dramatic arid landscape and continues to Kagbeni. To continue on to Kagbeni, one must travel on other side of the Kaligandaki River. The left fork continues up the river to Kagbeni. After 3 hrs. Walk form Kagbeni one will reach Marpha the Apple capital kingdom of Nepal.
Day 7: Marpha-Ghasa.
Marpha to Ghasa, nice village with greenery and open space.
Day 8: Ghasa-Tatopani.
Walk through subtropical vegetation and the return of water buffalo, banyan trees and poinsettias. The trail follows the river through a world deepest George and have a very nice view one of the longest waterfall. Stay at Tatopani and visit natural hot spring 1180m.
Day 9: Tatopani to Ghorepani.
Trek 6/7 hours on steep uphill trail to Ghorepani through villages, forest and terraced rice fields.
Day 10: Ghorepani to Tadapani
Early morning walk up to Poonhill, one of the best Himalayan viewpoints in Nepal. Poonnhill provides an unobstructed view of the high Himalaya and start our trek to Tadapani. A short early morning climb to the Deurali pass for a spectacular panorama over Dhaulagiri and the Annapurna, trail descends steeply through dense moss-covered forest rich with birdlife to Tadapani which provides you a close up sunset view.
Day 11: Tadapani to Chhomrong.
The trail drops down from Tadapani, through dense rhododendron forest. Stay at Chhomrong (2040m) towering above the villages is the mighty peak of Annapurna south, with the Fishtail facing it across the valley.
Day 12: Chhomrong to Dovan
We walk through the forest of Kuldighar. The track winds steeply up through deep bamboo and rhododendron forest to the village of Dovan.
Day 13: Dovan to Machhapuchre Base Camp
A trek of the narrow Modi khola valley will bring you almost to the base of the Machhapuchhare Base Camp. Here you will spend a day gazing away at the snow covered peaks above and the beauty of the landscape around.
Day 14: Machhapuchhare to Annapurna Base Camp.
Early morning trek to ABC where you stand in the century, the 360 degree views are breathtaking, although clouds roll in early; the curtain often lifts at sunset to rival radiant, glowing peaks.
Day 15: Trek down to Dovan on the same way we trek up to ABC.
Day 15: Dovan to Jhinu Danda.
Enjoy a natural hot spring at Jhinu Danda stay overnight there.
Day 16: Jindu Danda-Landruk.
Jhinu Danda to Landruk a beautiful Gurung village provides you will have excellent view of Annapurna South and Hiunchuli.
Day 17: Landruk to Dhampus.
Trek 6 hours to Dhampus. Close up view of Mount Fishtail and Annapurna South.
Day 18: Dhampus-Pokhara.
Trek 3 hours down to Phedi and drive to Pokhara, looking around Pokhara.
Day 19: Pokhara-Kathmandu.
Fly or drive back to Kathmandu.
Day 20: Free day in Kathmandu.
You can do shopping or looking around; join to the cultural show dinner in the evening.
Day 21: Kathmandu Airport.
Final transfers to Kathmandu airport to get fly back to home.
