Himalaya trekking conquers the high passes, valleys and glaciers with witnessing chortens, panoramic views and Sherpa villages meeting locals during teahouse stays. This trekking route is in Everest Himalaya, but we trek to Kongde peak site leaving the main Everest trekking trail. Autumn and spring is the best trekking season for this trekking. A good stamina and trekking equipment is necessary for this trekking.
Day 1: Fly to Lukla (2840m)
After breakfast, transfer to the domestic airport for a flight to Lukla. We have a 4 hours easy walk to Phakding and stay overnight at Phakding.
Day 2: Trek to Himalayan Sherpa Camp (3700m)
After breakfast, half hour walk through Dudh Koshi River and 20 minutes uphill walk takes us to Nombuwa Teng, a tiny and beautiful Sherpa village where we will stop for a tea break. Another 2 and half hours walk along the ridge will take to the Himalaya Sherpa Camp where our guide and cooking team prepare tent for the overnight stay. Our cook will prepare delicious meal for the night. This walk of the day is always countering Thamserku (6623m) as it looms skyward on the opposite side.
Day 3: Trek to Kongde (4250m)
After breakfast we take a beautiful ascending walk for 2 and half hours through the small forest of pine trees and also the ridge around the alpine lines to Kongde. We reach Kongde which is the ideal place for a blissful experience. Enjoy the beautiful panoramic views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Cho-Oyu, Gyjungkhang, Pumori, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Tawache, Thamserku and Kusum Khangkaru and other peaks while walking.
Day 4: Summit Pharak Peak (4900m)
After breakfast, we climb up Pharak Peak 4900m for the great Panaromic views of entire Everest region including Makalu and Kanchenjunga. The view of the Solukhumbu range from here is like no other. It takes four to five hours trip to the Pharak Peak summit and back to the Hotel. Overnight at Kongde Hotel
Day 5: Climb to Summit Sherpa Peak (5050m)
On this day we climb up for 3 to 4 hours to the Sherpa Peak 5050m for the great view of Cho Oyu, Rolwaling, Mt. Everest Himalayas range, Sumdur Himal and other Khumbu Himalayas. From the top of this peak, you can see the Kongde Himal at a close range and you can feel that you are nearing the summit of Kongde Peak. After the summit, our guide will lead you to the Kongde glacial lake, just half an hour below the peak. The trip to the lake would be one of the dramatic trips.
Day 6: Trek to Phakding (2610m)
Today, we have a steep 4/5 hours walk down to Phakding with great views of Thamserku, Kusum Khangkaru and scenic views of Sherpa villages around Phakding.
Day 7: Trek to Lukla (2840m)
After breakfast, we take a 4 hours easy walk to Lukla. On the way back, we visit the Chaurikharka high school, Kyongma Monastery and village’s enroute.
Day 8: Fly back to Kathmandu (1400m)
We leave by the early morning flight for Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel after reaching Kathmandu.
