Tilicho Meso Kanto Pass trekking is very challenging trek on Annapurna circuit route. Tilicho Lake is one of the highest lakes in the world. It is 4,949 m high in the Himalayas of Annapurna in Nepal. It was for long almost totally closed for climbers and expeditions, and since 1974, when Nixon changed the China policy, part of the area above Thini on the Jomosom side became a totally off-limits military area. From the Manang side it was rarely if ever visited. It’s one of none tourist Trekking area of Nepal, which is normal to hard trekking with different passes. It lays also Annapurna region. But it is very exciting and the challenging Trekking. One can pass the Mesokanta La via Tilicho. So for it, it’s called “Annapurna Hard way trekking”. One can see the nice scenery of Annapurna region, and the Tilicho Lake view, which is the situated highest Elevations Lake in the world. Not only that. You can see the other popular Mountain scenery in this area.
This is a challenging grade of trekking. We can do this trekking from May to Middle of October. There are tea house lodge facilities till Tilicho Lake and between Tilicho Lake and Jomsom for 2/3 days no any tea house lodge facility. We have to carry tent gear and food for 3 days from Tilicho Lake. A good guide who have pass Meso Kanto La Pass with some climbing experience is helpful for this trekking. A good trekking gear and physical condition is required for this trekking. Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu, Nepal.
We will receive you at Kathmandu airport on arrival, and transfer to hotel. We are waiting you at arrival exit door of Kathmandu airport with your name so that you know us easily.
Day 2: Drive to Besisahar (830meters).
Drive nearly 6 hours for 185km to Besishahar, hide and out with rivers, fields and villages. On arrival at Besisahar you will see stunning snow caped mountain scenery.
Day 3: Drive to Syange and trek to Chamje (1400meters).
The trail drops steeply to Syange (1070meter) from Bahundanda. Leaving Bahundanda a large waterfall may be seen. Crossing the Marsyangdi River on a suspension bridge. We then follow the river to the stone village of Jagat before climbing through forest to Chamje (1400meters).
Day 4: Trek to Bagarchhap (2160meters).
Trek 6 hours on scenic trail of rocky hill, dotted village, walk upon and down frequently to Bagarchhap. It is 5/6 hours trek.
Day 5: Trek to Chame (2630meters).
Trek 5/6 hours to Chame, the district headquarter of Manang, rolling up with river, waterfalls, village and forest on mountain trail. You may have chance dip into hot spring if it is not swept away by Marshyangdi River.
Day 6: Trek to Pisang (3300 meters)
Trek on a steep and narrow valley trail with alpine forest to Pisang for 5 hours.
Day 7: Trek to Manang (3540 meters).
Trek on dry up valley of Hongde and Pisang, interacting with yaks, musk deer and birds to Manang. It is an easy 5 hours trek. It you trek via Ghyaru, it takes 6/7 hours, a bit harder but very fantastic trekking.
Day 8: Acclimatization day at Manang village.
We spend doing some fine day walks to higher point in the morning after breakfast and in the afternoon walk around Manang village, join at altitude brief meeting.
Day 9: Trek to Khangsar Village (3700 meters)
Trek on descends and ascends slope for 4 hours to Kangsar village has still in the old Tibetan style. This is the last village of this trekking.
Day 10: Trekking to Tilicho Base Camp (4200meters)
Trek on at high altitude ridge trail and narrow valley, ascends and descends thorough the screed slopes to Tilicho Base Camp.
Day 11: Explore Tilicho Lake (5200 meters), the highest lake in the world.
Trek for 3/4 hours to Tilicho Lake is a cold barren place in the afternoon and claimed as highest lake of the world. After we spend some time around Tilicho Lake, return same way to Tilicho Base Camp as there are no any accommodation facilities at Tilicho Lake area. Overnight at basic Guesthouse.
Days 12: Trek to Namphu Kharka.
Trek to Namphu Kharka after crossing Mesokanta La pass (5315meter), this is the very challenging trek on snow waking for 8/9 hours. Overnight at tented camp.
Days 13: Trek to Jomsom.
Trek downhill to Jomosn, the headquarter of Mustang. Relax have shower and good food.
Day 14: Jomsom -Kalopani Trek.
Trek for 5/6 hours to Kalopani, walking on Annapurna Dhaulagiri corridor along the banks of Kaligandai through the Thakali village of Marpah, Tukuche and Kobang.
Day 15: Kalopani Tatopani Trek.
Trek down to Tatopani for 5/6 hour. Dip in the hot spring once you are in Tatopani. This is nice and cozy bath in hot spring.
Day 16: Tatopani -Galeswor trek.
Trek 5/6 hours to Galeshwor, a small pilgrimage sites.
Day 17: Galeswor -Pokhara via Beni.
Trek 4 hours to Beni and drive 3 hours to Pokhara via Maldhunga, the rafting start point of Kaligandaki.
Day 18: Pokhara to Kathmandu
Drive or fly to Kathmandu. By drive it takes 6 hours drive and by flight it is 30 minutes flight.
Day 19: Kathmandu Airport
Final transfer to Kathmandu airport to get your flight back to home.
