Lhasa Tibet Tour 8 days, we also call central Tibet tour that explores Lhasa, Gyantse, Shigatse and Namtso Lake.  This tour gives a comprehensive experience of Tibet culture, history and nature.

During 8 days Lhasa Tibet Tour we visit Lhasa's important historical and heritage sites that is Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street, Sera and Drepung Monastery. Then we drive to Shigatse via Yamrok Lake and Gyantse. Yamdrok is a stunning turquoise lake of Tibet. Shigatse is the second largest city of Tibet where we visit Tashilumpo Monastery. After that we drive back to Lhasa and then drive to Namtso Lake, the largest salt water lake in Tibet. The snow mountains surrounds this pristine lakes. One of the landmark of Tibet, most of the travellers want to visit this lake in Tibet. After visit Namtse Lake we drive back to Lhasa pass  through blooming rapeseed fields and snow-capped mountains. On 8 day after breakfast,  we transfer you to Lhasa airport or train station for your onwards flight.

The 8 days Tibet tour highly recommends if you are looking for tour in central Tibet. The tour is suitable for you if you have high altitude travel experience and physically fit.  Both group joining and private tour is possible.

April to November is the best season for this tour. Winter like December to February does not recommend this tour but still we can do this tour.  The whole month of March, Tibet remain close. This tour in March is not possible.

On 8 days Lhasa Tibet Tour package, airport pick and departure transfer, twin sharing hotel accomodation with breakfast, entranc fee, driver with van transfer, tibet travel permit includes. But the flight cost, Tibet/China paper group visa, lunch and dinner does not includes. Without booking package tour, it is not possbile to travel in Tibet. Trip Itinerary


Upon arrival in Lhasa either by train or flight, your guide/representative will receive you there and transfer to your hotel Viewing the Yarlung Tsangpo River/ Bhamaputra river, the Longest and largest river in Tibet and Lhasa river on their way to Lhasa.Take a rest and get acclimatized to high altitude You can spend the afternoon wandering around the Barkhor, Tibet’s ancient market area that surrounds Jokhang Temple. Each day thousands of Buddhist pilgrims make their way around this sacred temple. You may visit Potala Square, where you will enjoy the fountain with different colors and get amazing photos of the Potala and around.


You will start the day by exploring the Potala Palace, Tibet’s most iconic building. Towering above Lhasa with more than 1000 rooms, the Potala Palace served as the winter residence of the Dalai Lama’s for hundreds of years. After lunch, you will go to explore the Jokhang temple, the holiest Buddhist temple in the Himalayas. Founded nearly 1400 years ago, Jokhang Temple houses the most sacred statue of Buddha. You will work your way through this fascinating temple alongside Buddhist pilgrims from the faraway regions of Tibet. The sound of pilgrims chanting mantras fills the air as does the smell of yak butter candle offerings. Around the temple is Barkhor street, where you can do kora, a religious circle of a building or mountain with pilgrims and locals, and explore the old market.


Today you will explore 600 year old Sera monastery, one of Tibet’s largest Buddhist monasteries. Each weekday afternoon starting at 3pm, monks engage in Buddhist philosophy debates, which are fun to photograph.You can also see three sand Mandalas and colorful Rock Painting of Buddha. After lunch, you will go to Drepung, another of Tibet’s huge monastic complexes. The pilgrimage circuit around Drepung takes about an hour or so and offers spectacular views.You can visit biggest monastery kitchen inside the monastery and enjoy Buddhist Sculpture Carving workshop near Drepung.


In the morning, drive from Lhasa to Shigatse crossing over the Gampala pass (4790 m), and you will have a glimpse of Yamdrok-tso (4400m) .The Lake is surrounded by many snow-capped mountains and in the distance you can have spectacular views of Holy Mount Nyenchen Khangsar, (7191m) the highest mountain near Lhasa. Later, we will pass and enjoy the Karola Glacier on the roadside. At Manak Dam Lake, you can hang pray flag at Simila Mountain Pass. Then, we will arrive in Gyantse, historically Tibet's third largest city after Lhasa and Shigatse.In Gyantse, we will visit the famous Pelkor Monastery and Gyantse Kumbum and enjoy the Far view of Gyangtse Fortress. After one and a half driving, we arrive in Shigatse, which is the second largest city in Tibet. In Shigatse, we may visit traditional Barley Mill and view the landscape of Barley Field. Stay overnight in Shigatse.


In the morning, we will visit the home of Panchan Lama - Tashilunpo Monastery; you can see the well preserved largest statue of Jampa (future god) in the world. The monastery itself is abiding place for the successive Penchen Lamas. Then we are expected to follow Yalong Valley back to Lhasa and the guide will get you transferred to your hotels. Stay overnight in Lhasa.


In the early morning we will begin our long journey from Lhasa to Namtso. You will see enjoy the Nyenchen Tanggula Mountain Range and see Nomads in flourishing grassland (in Summer); Besides, on the way you can appreciate the view of Sky-Road Railway with snow mountain background. As we reach the famousLagenla Mountain Pass(5190m), you can enjoy the awe-inspiring vista of Namtso Lake from above. After we arrived at the lake shore, you will enjoy the leisure trek around Tashi Island and enjoy sunset there. At night, you may enjoy night view of the milky way beside the Lake shore. Stay overnight in the guesthouse beside Namtso Lake. Please note that the accommodation at Namtso won’t be available to tourists until June, after you finish the tour at Namtso Lake, you will spend the night at Damxung. The next day, you will head back to Lhasa, during which you will visit Yangpachen hot spring and Chimelong nunnery and enjoy the vista of a sky burial site nearby.


In the morning, never miss the stunning sunrise view of the Namtso Lake. Then we will head back to Lhasa. As we pass the Yangpachen Hot Spring. Stay overnight in Lhasa


The trip ends, and after breakfast, you will be transferred to the Lhasa airport/train staion and depart Tibet.
