Overview of Tibet Cho Oyu Expedition 38 days

Tibet Cho Oyu Climbing Expedition is a technical challenges adventure to attempt a 8,000 m peak. So it is the sixth highest mountain in the world on the Tibet-Nepal border,20 kilometers west of Everest and Lhotse. From this trip will explore the Nepali culture and tradition before discovering the Tibetan Buddhist culture. You will experience mountaineering environment with the climbing of Mt Cho Oyu. It is the fifth successful expedition to climb an 8000-meter peak.

This expedition is an easy access to climb and safe climbing mountain. It is moderate to climb short section steep rock and ice slope. The advance base camp is near to the oldest trade route in the Himalaya of Nangpa-La. The expedition is first climb to the S. Moechler, H. Tichy and P. Dawa Lama in 1954. From that date many expedition teams is successful to reach on its summit.

The Cho Oyu expedition is climbing the summit from tibet side because of the easy technique route from there than Nepal. From the summit you will view the majestic mountain of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Chamlang and other surrounding peak. Thus, to attempt the summit, it requires technical straightforward section and safe climbing with proper acclimatize days. Normally there are four different routes such as the northwest, the northeast, and the southwest and impressive Southwest face rising 3000m from the ABC.

Best Time to Tibet Cho Oyu Climbing Expedition

The Cho Oyu Expedition will complete within 38 days starting and ending at Kathmandu city of Nepal. The journey of expedition starts in Kathmandu with the necessary paperwork and permits before heading into Tibet. The journey to Cho Oyu basecamp will either via flights to Lhasa or via land through Rasuwagadi border. The expedition Cho Oyu is climbable during the spring and autumn seasons.

Detail Itinerary of Tibet Cho Oyu Expedition 38 days

01

Day 01: rrive to Kathmandu (1,300m)

Upon arrival at Kathmandu airport, you will be received by us there and we wait you at Kathmandu airport by your name and transfer to hotel. The rest of the day is free and trip briefing in the evening.

Day 02: In Kathmandu

Hand over passport to China Embassy; begin processing of Chinese Visa. Training and equipment review at hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 03: In Kathmandu

Receive processed visa from Chinese embassy.

Day 04: Nepal to Tibet

Begin Expedition! Drive to Zhangmu, Tibet (2500m) and drive to Nyalam (3,750m).

Lhasa option: Fly to Lhasa. Rest in Lhasa, tour Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple, the most sacred building in all of Tibet.

Day 05: In Nyalam

Rest & Acclimatization in Nyalam (3,750m). Walk in the surrounding hills.

Lhasa option: Drive to Shigatse. Rest and acclimate, tour the surrounding area. Visit the 15th century Tashilunpo Monastery, the largest active monastic institution in Tibet.

Day 06: Drive to Tingri at 4,300m.

Lhasa option: Drive to Lhatse. Rest and acclimate, tour the surrounding area. Visit the Changmoche Monastery.

Day 07: Rest & Acclimatization in Tingri at 3900m.

Lhasa option: Drive to Tingri. Rest and acclimate, tour the surrounding area.

Day 08: Drive to Chinese Base, 4900m.

Day 09: Rest & Acclimatization at Chinese Base.

Day 10: Walk halfway to advanced base camp, camp at 5100m.

Day 11: Rest day & Acclimatization at interim-camp at 5100m

Day 12: Walk to advanced base camp at 5600m and Rest

Day 13: Rest & Acclimatization, training, and organization at advanced base camp.

Day 14: Climb to camp 1 at 6200m, return to advanced base camp.
