Overview of Ombigaichen Peak Climbing

Ombigaichen is an wonderful peak climbing in Mahalangur region. This Ombigaichen peak is lies at the elevation of 6340m and listed under group A through NMA. On the way you will view the bloom rhododendron forest, glacier lake, Buddhist monastery and traditional villages of Sherpa community. So a climber need passion and good physical condition to climb the peak summit.

During the journey you will enjoy with natural wilderness and magnificent geographical views. The package of this peak climbing is moderate and adventuresome. Thus this peak climbing need healthy acclimatization to success the adventure journey. From the summit you will view stunning Himalayan peak such as Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse Shar, and other surrounding peaks. An experience proficient guide is need to get success the expedition.

During the month of autumn September to November and Spring March to May is the best to do peak climbing. At that time the flower is blooming and clear skies with good visibility for the mountains view. As well as the temperature is better than other season and flight will not cancel or delay in this season. This journey will only success with a help of Sherpa guide who is guidance for how to using the climbing usage equipment.

This Ombigaichen permit is first issued in 2002. Generally the route of this expedition begins at Lukla and follow the ascending trail of Namche Bazar to base camp. From base camp you will climb to summit and view of astounding of surrounding peak. The natural treasure of the Ombigaichen expedition is bewildering. An technical skill will make easy to climb the summit. Hence the journey that you spending on the summit makes fruitful memory in entire lifetime.

Detail Itinerary of Ombigaichen Peak Climbing

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu (1300 m)

On arrival at Kathmandu airport, we receive and greet you. Transfer to your hotel. You will have time to explore the many charms of the city on your own. Overnight at hotel.

Day 02: Kathmandu sightseeing

Trekking preparation in Kathmandu and sightseeing tour to some of the following attractions: Swayambhunath Stupa (monkey temple), Kathmandu durbar square.

Day 03: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla (2800 m) - Trek to Phakting (2623 m)

Day 04: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440 m) trek

Day 05: Namche Bazaar to Khumjung (3753 m) trek

Day 06: Rest day for acclimatization-Khumjung hiking

Day 07: Khumjung to Tengboche (3867 m) trek

Day 08: Tengboche to Ama Dablam Base Camp (4576 m) trek

Day 09: Ama Dablam Base Camp for acclimatization

Day 10: Ama Dablam Base Camp to Ombigaichen Base Camp (5200 m) trek

I booked a morningtrip to Nagarkot with a 2 hour hiking trip. I had the best time with mr Jitendra who runs the company and was my guide himself. He added some extra’s to the trip (eg the suspension bridge) bc the weather was cloudy and I didn’t have a good view of the mountains (which was my main purpose).
