Pokalde peak climbing is a demanding trekking trail in Nepal. Pokalde Peak is a popular commercial tourist peak in Nepal. It is first ascend in April 1953 and listed group B from NMA. Pokalde Peak climbing offers amazing views of mountains like Makalu, Ama Dablam and Pumori. Thus, this Peak Climbing is very popular for the passionate climbers and mountaineers who love challenges.

So, it is easy for anyone who is really interesting to climb this peak. A fit and acclimatization is require with appropriate leadership to climb Pokalde Peak in half a day. This peak climbing is suitable for all who want to collect experience in snow covered climbing without an ice axes and crampons. The following itinerary consist the route of everest region. This peak leads the trail route from Phakding to Pokalde base camp passes through the beautiful forest of pine, rhododendron. Mostly the main inhabitant of this region is Sherpas and enjoy their festival and culture during the journey. From Pokalde base camp continue to climb up the adventure journey to Summit, where you view stunning Himalayan ranges. After admiring the beautiful mountains views from the summit you will return back to Lukla via following the basic route.

he perfect season for Pokalde Peak Climbing is from March to May (Spring) and from September to November (Autumn). However, the winter is also a great time to climb if you are being prepared for the cold weather. In the cold month of December the views of the mountains are crystal clear and there are less tourists around the peak climbing. You will have take good acclimatization during this peak climbing journey. The duration of this peak climbing can extend as per your reference.

Detail Itinerary of Pokalde Peak Climbing

Day 01: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla (2800m) and trek to Phakding (2652m).

Day 02: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440m).

Day 03: Rest day at Namche for acclimatization.

Day 04: Trek to Thyangboche (3867m)

Day 05: Trek to Dingboche (4530m)

Day 06: Trek to Chhukung (4730m)

Day 07: Rest day at Chhukung for climbing preparation

Day 08: Trek to Pokalde Base camp.

Day 09: Climb Pokalde Peak (5745m.) and return back to Pokalde Base Camp.

Day 10: Trek to Khongma Tse Base Camp

Day 11: Climb Khongma Tse Peak (5820m.) and return back to Khongma Tse Base

Day 12: Trek to Pokalde Base Camp

Day 13: Trek to Chhukung.

Day 14: Trek to Pangboche (3985m)

Day 15: Trek to Khumjung (3790m).

Day 16: Trek to Phakding.

We had a great experience with our guide Narayan, hiking the Manaslu circuit- he was professional and responsible, attentive to our needs, and very knowledgeable about the trail and the best places to stay, eat, etc.. I booked a morningtrip to Nagarkot with a 2 hour hiking trip. I had the best time with mr Jitendra who runs the company and was my guide himself. He added some extra’s to the trip (eg the suspension bridge) bc the weather was cloudy and I didn’t have a good view of the mountains (which was my main purpose).
