Best Time to Bokta Peak Climbing

This trip begins from Kathmandu to Basantapur. After visiting Kathmandu Valley heritage sites drive ahead toward Basantapur and start your trek to Summit. In order to, this trip take around 30/35 day. And you will using both way domestic flight from Kathmandu to Biratnagar, and sukhetar to Kathmandu. Otherwise you will take either private or local bus. And the best season is March to May and September to December.

Similarly, you will head toward the high camp to Summit with good acclimatization day. A climbing guide will provide the essential climbing gear to successful the summit climb Bokta peak. During the climbing you will fully enjoying to view of Mt. Kanchenjunga and many other beautiful mountain peaks. After spending short and quality time at the Bokta Peak Summit, you will descend to base camp. From there you will descend through the route of Toronto, Yamphudin, Phonphe, Kunjari to finally arrive at Suketar.

Detail Itinerary of Bokta Peak Climbing 35 days

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu (1300 m)

You are welcomed and received by us at Kathmandu airport on arrival to Nepal. Then transfer to hotel and pre trip meeting and discussion about itinerary in the afternoon.

Day 02: Kathmandu Tour

On Kathmandu sightseeing tour, we visit important historical and heritage sites of Kathmandu valley which is listed on UNESCO world heritage sites.We visit Boudhanath stupa, Pashupatinath temple and Kathmandu durbar square on this day tour. Boudhanath stupa is one of the biggest Buddhist shrines in the world where we observe Buddhist monks in prayer in the monasteries. Pashipatinath temple is the most famous Hindu temple in Asia, located in the banks of Bagmati river where men are meditating, pilgrims are bathing and occasionally funeral pyres means dead body are burning/cremating on the ghats. Then come back to hotel and introduction meeting with your guide in the afternoon. You can ask any questions regard the trekking and climbing with your guide on this group meeting and the final preparations for the trip.

Day 03: Kathmandu -Basantpur

Fly to Biratnagar (100 m) and drive to Basantpur (2200 m) by Jeep. Overnight stays there.

Day 04: Basantpur to Chauki (2700m)

6 hours walk/trek to Chauki.

Day 05: Chauki to Gupha Pokhari (2930 m)

Trek 5/6 hours on wonderful mountain terrain to Gupha Pokhari.

Day 06: Trek to Dovan (730 m)

A long day walk takes 9 hours.

Day : Dovan to Mitlung (921 m)

Trek 6 hours to Mitlung.

Day 08: Mitlung to Tapethok (1290 meters)

It is nearly 6 hours walk to Tapethok.

Day 09: Tapethok to Amjilosa (2490 m)

Trek 9 hours to Amjilosa.

Day 10: Amjilosa to Gyabla (2730 m)

5 hours trek to Gyabla.

Day 11: Gyable to Ghunsa (3430 m)

6 hrs trek to Ghunsa.

Day 12: Ghunsa acclimatize day

Rest day for acclimatization in Ghunsa: climb to Yamatari Dudhpokhari glacier (4315 m) that takes 6 hours walk.

Day 13: Trek to Kambachen (4040 m), it takes 5 hours.

Day 14: Trek to Ramtang (4525 m) takes 5 hours

The most impressive mountain giant is from here good seeing Jannu or Khumbakarna (7710 m) with its enormous summit, is strongly reminiscent of a seated Nepalis of his with the typical nepali hat covered head on his left arm.

Day 15: Trek to Pangpema/ North Base Camp (5065 m) takes 5 ½ hours

Day 16: Pangpema

Rest day or trip over the Corner Camp (5170 m) to Glacier Camp I (5270 m) and back to Base Camp Pang Pema with great views of the nearby six-, seven-and eight-thousand peaks. It is about 5 hours climbing hiking.

Day 17: Pang Pema

Early morning optional ascent to Drohma Spur (5870 m) for excellent views of the Kanchenjunga massif north of Pang Pema and return to Base Camp.

Day 18: Trek to Ghunsa (3430 m) via Lhonak (4700 m) takes 7 hours walk.

Day 19: Trek to Sele la base camp (4600 m) via Tama La Pass (3940 m) and the Sele La Pass (4170 m) takes 6/7 hours uphill trek.

Day 20: Trek to Tseram (3870 m)

Trek 6/7 hours to Tseram.

Day 21: Trek to Ramche (4450 m)/ Oktang (4730 m) that takes 6/7 hours walk.

Day 22: Oktang: resting and reserve day

You can also a play on the gravel-capped glacier to South Base Camp walk along.

Day 23: Trek to Bokta Base Camp (5123 m)

Trek to Bokta base camp it takes 5/6 hours. We can see fabulous panoramic views of the entire Kanchenjunga massif from the south.

Day 24: Climb to Bokta Bokta Peak High Camp

Climb to high camp and prepare for summiting Bokta Peak.

Day 25: Summit to Bokta Peak (6143 m) and climb down to Base camp

Day 26: Reserve day

Day 27: Trek back to Toronto

Trek down to Toronto takes 7 hours walk.

Day 28: Trek to Yamphudin (1700 m)

Day 29: Trek to Phonphe (1910 m)

Day 30: Trek to Kunjari (1740 m)

Day 31: Trek to Suketar (2300 m)

Day 32: Suketar. Resting and reserve day

Site visit with butter tea and visit the Tibetan monastery.

Day 33: Suketar to Kathmandu by flight.

Day 34: Kathmandu leisure day

Spend free day in Kathmandu for relaxing, strolling and shopping.

Day 35: Kathmandu Airport

Transfer to airport to get flight back to home.

I booked a morningtrip to Nagarkot with a 2 hour hiking trip. I had the best time with mr Jitendra who runs the company and was my guide himself. He added some extra’s to the trip (eg the suspension bridge) bc the weather was cloudy and I didn’t have a good view of the mountains (which was my main purpose).
