Tharpu Chuli peak is an adventure challenging mountain of Annapurna region in Nepal. This peak climbing lies at the elevation of 5550m above from sea level. This peak is not much difficult and challenging as compare to Island and Mera peak. It offers an amazing view of the Shangri la of the entire Annapurna Sanctuary. You will follow several route to reach the summit such as north-west ridge,south-east ridge, and south-west face.

However you will pass the trail way through a dense forest with blooming beautiful rhododendron and pines oaks and silver fir tree. You will explore the traditional Gurung farm village with Buddhist culture. From the summit you will enjoy the outstanding view of Annapurna ranges, Gangapurna, Fang, Hiunchuli and many other surrounding peaks. So it is an excellent opportunity for beginner climber to gain experience of mountaineering.

This  journey will complete within 18 days or 13 days as per your request in itinerary. But you require better acclimatization to get good fitness level. A Sherpa guide will help how to usages the technical section to get the summit with several equipment. So the peak climbing is joining on the month of September to November and March to May. On the month of December it is also possible to join this peak but you need strong physical appearance.

The journey of Tharpu Chuli peak climbing starts from Kathmandu to Pokhara either private or tourist buses. Again you will take short drive from Pokhara to Nayapul. And start your trekking from there. You will lead the trekking trail to ABC route to Tharpu Chuli peak summit with ample acclimatize day. You will enjoying great exciting experience from the summit. And you will follow descend route to Nayapul and Pokhara to Kathmandu with lots of valuable timetable.

 

Trip Itinerary


You will be met at Kathmandu airport by us, then drive to Hotel, it takes 45 minute drive. The day can then be spent relaxing, seeing the sights of Kathmandu and getting to know trekking climbing briefing.


Check equipment / sightseeing. As part of today we will check everyone has the necessary kit for the trek ahead. There is time to hire/buy anything needed from the numerous climbing shops within 5 minutes walk of the hotel.


Half day drive to Pokhara the second capital of Nepal. The drive will show you some wonderful scenery as we travel through Nepal and Pokhara itself is very pretty situated beside a huge lake with cafes restaurants and a number of new lodges.


After a short drive out of Pokhara, then the trek begins from Nayapul and will take you steadily up to Ghandruk, the pace will be slow to allow for acclimatization and there will be a stop for lunch at a lodge on the way.


Continuing along the route we are gradually gaining height. The scenery starts to become more and more impressive as we get further into the mountains and from Chhomrong there are wonderful views of Annapurna South.


Trekking on to Bamboo will take you across a river bridge and then through forests of bamboo, rhododendron and oak. There are a number of small villages along the trail.


We will reach Deurali today, gaining quite a lot of height however making the following day easier.


This is a fairly steep walk up to reach Hinku Cave, a fire-blackened overhang of rock. Machhapuchhre Base Camp is a level and grassy moraine platform taking about 3-4 hours of walking to reach today.


We ascend gently through the quiet grassy terrain to get to Annapurna Base Camp. The view is spectacular as we are surrounded by the giant Himalayan peaks. After having trekked for 2 hours, we reach base camp where there are fantastic views of the south face of Annapurna I.


We will start promptly in the morning to cross the glacier and steadily climb to base camp. The glacier is superb to see, walk across and to hear. Then once across the route climbs quite steeply and may have a light covering of snow.


Following the trail leading to Tent peak high camp will take the group onto snow and although this is not a long day the gain in height will be significant and there is time once at high camp to rest and relax. The climbing guides will be alongside the group and you will find them very attentive as necessary to the safety and care of the group.


There will be an early start to make the best use of the day and to reach the summit in the morning. The views from this mountain are superb giving a 360 degree view of the entire Annapurna Sanctuary. Fixed ropes will be used to ensure the groups safety and the guides will assist individuals as necessary. The scenery from this peak of the Annapurna range, that surrounds Tent Peak, is hugely impressive.


The trek down will seem easy following the exertions of the days before and as the air become richer.


This is a half days walk and there is a natural hot spring to visit as a part of the day.


Trek into Nayapul - the last day of the trek. There will be a short drive into Pokhara and then time to relax, shower and go out for a celebratory meal and drink.



Half day drive from Pokhara back to the city of Kathmandu. Arriving back into the midst of a bustling city may feel a little strange after the peace and slower pace of the rural mountains of Nepal.


Today is a rest day to relax, sight see, shop and whatever else you wish to do before your return journey transfer to airport.


It is a scenic drive, about 6-7 hours long, stopping for breakfast and lunch on the way.


A private vehicle will transfer you to Nayapul (1050 m), the starting point of your trek. Then you will go uphill to arrive at Tikhedhunga (1,577 m), where you will spend the night at a local teahouse.


After having walked for about 7-8 hours, you will reach Ghorepani (2875 m), known to be a major settlement of Pun ethnic people.


Wake up by 5 AM and take a short walk to Poonhill (3210 m) to take in the view of the captivating sunrise. Resume trekking and after 5-6 hours, arrive at Tadapani (2660 m), your stopover for the day.


Your next segment, Tadapani to Sinuwa (2660 m-2300 m) will take about 6-7 hours.


The total duration of today’s trek will be nearly 7-8 hours and is a bit tougher. The trail goes mostly through forests and on the way passes Bamboo, Dovan and Himalaya Hotel. We will spend the night in Deurali (3100m).


Trek for about 6 hours, the first stopover being Machherpuchre Base Camp where you will stop for lunch and acclimatization for a few hours. In the afternoon you will walk up to Annapurna Base Camp (4130m), see the beautiful sunset and take a walk in the vicinity. You can also explore the nearby glacier.




Summit Tent peak (5695m) for some outstanding view of the spectacular Annapurna mountain range. After reaching the summit we then begin our decent back down to spend the night at the Annapurna base camp.



Start trekking early to reach Ghandruk (1950 m) in about 4-5 hours. It is very likely that you will get to meet some people who have served in the British Gurkha forces.


This is the last day of the trek and you will walk all the way to Nayapul via Syaule Bazar, which normally takes about 4-5 hours. From Nayapul, you will be transferred back to Pokhara in 2 hours.
