13 days Mount Everest Base Camp Trek is a challenging trip. The trek takes you ultimately to the foot of Mount Everest. This is tea house lodge based trek because we sleep and eat at tea house lodges along the trail. The tea house lodges provide an excellent local and western meals from dalbhat to pizza and spaghetti. Please do not make expect high on trek to Everest base camp.
Autumn and Spring are the best season trekking to Mount Everest base camp. Winter is also a good time but it is cold and snow. This Everest base camp trek is suitable for solo and small group trekkers who are physically fit in both mind and body.
The electricity power available to re-charge device with an extra cost in every tea houses. The travel insurance that covers medical evacuation and medical expenses is necessary. Trip Itinerary
Day 01Kathmandu – Lukla (2,642m) – Phakding (2,562m, 35 min flight, 8km, 3-4 hrs) trek
35 minute flight, 4 hour trek 8 km. AP plan - Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. Basic Teahouse Lodge
We will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to airport. A quick, 25-30-minutes flight from Kathmandu will take you to Lukla (2,840m), the gateway to the Khumbu region and the starting point of this trek. Hike through the Dudhkoshi River Valley, past various settlements such as Chheplung and Chaurikharka, before reaching Phakding. Enjoy great views of the Himalayas during the trek. It's a leisurely day with a gradual descend of approximately 200 meters.
Day 02Phakding – Namche Bazaar (3,440m, 10km, 5-6 hrs)

Get ready for a steep climb. Follow the path of the thundering Dudh Koshi river crossing numerous suspension bridges along the way. Trek past Monjo and Jorsalle villages until reaching to Namche Bazaar (3,440m), a village in the mountains that is also the centre of commerce in the Khumbu region.
Day 03Acclimatization and exploration day
4-6 hour acclimatize day hike. AP plan - Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. Basic Teahouse Lodge
Stay in Namche and allow your body to acclimatize to the altitude. You have an option hiking around nearby areas. The trading and administrative centre of the Khumbu region, Namche is home to various government offices, banks, plenty of shops and eateries. One of the most interesting optional hike to Everest View Hotel from where you can enjoy great views of Mount Everest and other mountains in the Himalayas.
Day 04Namche Bazaar - Tengboche (3,870m, 8km, 5-6 hrs)

Start your day with a quick ascend followed by a flat trail to reach Kyanjuma. Travel downhill from there to reach Phunki Tenga. Cross the Dudh Koshi River to reach Tengboche Monastery, the most important monastery in the region. Depending upon the weather and other factors, you might end your day in Debuche (3800m). It is also possible to stay in Tengboche.
Day 05Tengboche - Dingboche (4,360 m, 10km, 5-6 hrs)

Make a quick descend to Debuche (if you did not do it yesterday) before starting an uphill climb towards Pangboche. See Everest, Amadablam and Nuptse mountains along the way. Stop in Pangboche for tea before continuing to Somare for lunch. Travel through the Imja Valley and cross Lobuche Stream before ascending to Dingboche (4,410m).
Day 06Acclimatization day in Dingboche

Day 07Dingboche – Lobuche (4,940m, 7km, 4-5 hrs)

Day 08Lobuche - Gorakshep (5,160 m) - Everest Base Camp (5,364 m)- Gorak Shep (15km, 7-8 hrs)

The first section of the trail will take you to Gorakshep via the Khumbu Glacier. Drop your bags and enjoy your lunch in Gorakshep before heading to Everest Base Camp (5,364m). The trail takes you through terrain strewn with rocks, moraines, streams and a glacier. Reach Everest Base Camp, located in the middle of the Khumbu Glacier. Return to Gorakshep for an overnight stay. If you can muster some energy and if the weather gods permit, we will hike up to Kala Patthar late in the afternoon to enjoy sunset. Please note that it's not easy to cover Gorakshep, Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar on the same day.
Day 09Gorak Shep - KalaPatthar (5,545m) - Pheriche (4,280m, 15km, 7-8 hrs)

Wake up early in dawn and climb up to Kala patthar, the famous landmark located above Gorakshep and enjoy amazing views of the mountains shining in the color of the morning sun. Spend some time there before descending to Gorakshep. Grab your breakfast and start your downhill journey to Pheriche.
Day 10Pheriche – Namche Bazaar (3,44m, 15km, 6-7 hrs)

Continue your journey downhill. Cross the Dudh Kosi River and make a steep climb to Kyanjuma. From this point on, the trail is largely flat or downhill until you reach the headquarters of Sagarmatha National Park just above Namche.
